Shelby Twin Turbo
No, it's not common to see a 1,600 horsepower door-slammer that has a full interior and amenities like air-conditioning and a radio, but the guys at Fathouse Performance made it happen. This Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R is the kind of car you dream about as a little kid.

Fathouse Performance specializes in building Shelby Mustang muscle cars that are too fast to believe. This particular Shelby received a twin-turbo kit with a MoTeC M190 ECU and manages to produce up to 1600 horsepower at the rear wheels. A PPG sequential transmission is used to run through the gears and help this badass Mustang reach 202.16 mph in a half-mile run.
The team took the Shelby Mustang to the Shift S3ctor half-mile Indy Airstrip Attack in Marion, Indiana. Here, driver Jermey Howell managed to take the twin-turbocharged beast and make the half-mile look like a walk in the park.
It's not uncommon for turbo-charged engines to rev high, but this 5.2-liter Voodoo V8 revs easily up to 8,000 rpm, and sounds menacing while doing it. It seems as if every gear shifted smoothly and going fast was what this thing was born to do. Once the Shebly Mustang hit that powerband, it was off and running.
Under the hood, you wouldn't be able to locate the twin turbochargers at first glance, but that is part of the Fathouse Performance mystic. However, the "1600R Twin Turbo" lettering on the manifold cover tells onlookers that this is no ordinary Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R. Then again, the roll cage, racing seats, and parachute might be your first clues that this machine means business. Either way you look at it, you have to hand it to Fathouse Performance, and for getting a Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R into the 200 mph club.
